Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk therapy is a new and exciting modality for therapy that combines movement, nature therapy, and other therapeutic modalities.

Walks are whatever pace the client would prefer to go. Clients are welcome to take long breaks for speaking on benches or picnic tables.

Confidentiality is always the key question for clients. The therapist will be choosing a park that is less crowded for our walking path and that ennables as much privacy as possible. Keeping moving ensures more privacy than you might think!

The details of how to keep your information private during an outdoor session is covered in detail in our infomed consent. You are also welcome to ask Rachel about those policies in a 15 minute consultation call.

Clients who would be well suited for Walk and Talk therapy are:

  1. People who want to connect with nature as a part of nervous system healing.
  2. People who might not feel comfortable in a conventional therapy setting.
  3. People who struggle to sit still and struggle with loud shared offices, for example: folks who have ADHD or Autism.
  4. People who want some of the healing that comes from bilateral stimulation (a technique for processing trauma in EMDR) but in a less traditional format.
